How was your weekend?
I really hope you enjoyed your Science week and exploring different light sources in your home.
This week is your Art week and the theme is ‘Self-Portrait’, but with a slight twist. We will be learning about our outer and inner selves, ourselves as animals and about the ‘Hold Still’ project launched by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

Number Bonds
Counting and Adjusting
Partitioning to Add
Counting backwards using a numberline
This week I will be giving you activities to consolidate (join) your learning. Today’s activity is one-step addition and subtraction word problems. There are different chilli’s to choose from depending on how confident you are feeling.

Science and Writing from Mrs Russell Day 5
Friday 22nd January – Year 4 Remote Learning
It is Friday, Funday Year 4!
What a wet and windy week it has been!
We have moved forward as a class this week with online meetings and greetings. We now have daily guided reading sessions and uploads of class-made videos to support your learning. You are all working extremely hard! Remember these are just suggested activities for you to have-a-go. Please do not feel you need to complete these. Feel comfortable in doing what is best for you and your family. It would be great if we could aim to all meet at least once a day so we can catch up and you can see your friends.
Much like last Friday, I would like you to complete our remote version of ‘Make and Take’. I have given you a couple of creative activities for you to enjoy!
Celebrations
Let’s give a huge round of applause to Harry!
This week Harry was nominated for ‘I can share my opinions and listen to those of others respectfully, even when they are different to my own’. Harry only started at our school at the beginning of the term and it is as if he has been part of our class since November! Harry, your confidence is continually growing and you are comfortable sharing your views and opinions in class.
Creative – Shadow Scene and Tessellation
Creative – Tessellation challenge
Spelling – Statutory Word and High Frequency
Science, Maths and Grammar
Please take this opportunity to complete any unfinished activities.
Reading
Today it is Rowling’s guided reading sessions. It will be today at 11:00am. Remember to familiarise yourself with your book again. The link will come up on your stream page, on Google Classroom, nearer the time.
**Just a reminder that you have been assigned your reading follow-up task. It would be great, if you could complete these before our next reading session.
Remember today, on Google Classroom, we will be having our class video chat at 9:30am. The link will be on our Stream Page. We will also have our class daily story at 2:15pm. This afternoon, at 2:15pm, you will be meeting with Mrs Russell. This will not be our usual story time. Mrs Russell will be catching up with you about your science learning.
Looking forward to seeing you later.
