Mr Hampton Says…

Share some photos with each other
Do you have some photos of yourself as a child?
These days we take lots of photos but often only look at them when they are being taken. Take some time to share some old photos with your family – last month’s pictures can often provide as much to talk about and enjoy as those from years ago.
Lego Fun
With your child make Lego versions of yourselves as superheroes – choose your powers, share them and enjoy them. There are adventures waiting to be made!

Fat Ball Bird Feeders

You will need:
  • A pack of lard
  • Wild bird seed
  • Netting that fruit and vegetables come in
  • A bowl

Add the block of lard to the bowl and break it up into small pieces and add approximately 2 cups of the wild bird seed.  .

Mix the lard and wild bird seed together and squash together into balls.

Place the balls into the netting and tie to trees or fences in your garden.

You could take them out with you on a walk and hang them on tress or bushes for the birds to eat.

This week has been another great week at Haytor View, whether children have been engaging with the website activities, making their own activities or coming into school and taking part in activities, we have had a lot of purposeful fun taking place!

We have continued to enjoy hearing about how you are spending your time, have loved the messages and photos you have been sending in, it really supports us in maintaining contact with your child as well as providing us with ideas of other activities we can suggest.

We will continue to update the website each week and you can look to the class pages or the ‘Other Fun Activities’ sections for ideas. Do let us know if you want more, or different, from the suggestions that we have made.

Our school team will continue to call to say ‘hello’ to you and your children, thank you in anticipation of the time you will be giving us. Please feel free to contact us in the usual way if you want to talk anything through,

WELCOME BACK TO A NEW HALF TERM!

We hope that you are all safe and well, that you had a relaxing half term and enjoyed the wonderful weather.

As in-school provision moves forward this half term be assured that we will be continuing to update the website with activities for your children to get involved in. We continue to be delighted to hear from you, finding out about how you are spending your time and what you have chosen to ‘get involved with’ from the website, either from class pages or the ‘Other Fun Activities’ section. Do let us know if you want more, or different, from the suggestions that we have made.

Our school team will continue to get in touch by telephone, especially where your children are not in year groups that we are able to welcome into school yet. The purpose of the call is simply to say ‘hello’ to you and your children – these calls bring us an enormous amount of pleasure, and we hope that they allow you and your child too continue to feel ‘connected’ with us. We love hearing about whatever it us you are getting up to and are really grateful for the time you give us when we get in touch.

In spite of the lovely weather, which has changed a bit today (!), we recognise that it continues to be a complicated and stressful time – you are certainly not alone in feeling this so do get in contact with us in the usual way if you want to talk anything through.
