Hello everyone!

We hope that you all enjoyed the weekend together?

No snow which was a disappointment but we wondered if you managed to make some ice to explore?? Did you create a story as you played in the ice??

I managed a couple of chilly walks with my dog Ollie and he actually went for a swim in the sea! Here is a rhyme for you to join in with about some swimming ducks!

At school we have been giving the birds some seed and bread as they find food hard to find when it is cold! Maybe you could put some bird food in your outdoor space? Bread, seed, apple or you could thread some Cheerio like breakfast cereal to hang up. Threading items is a great activity for developing so many skills like counting, creating patterns and developing fine motor coordination skills.

Our story today links to the rhyme and is: ” 5 Little Ducks ”  by Ian Beck

We are still trying to let you know your google class room log in. Do please upload any photos of what you are doing at home and we can share these with your friends!

Thank you

Mrs Penn, Mrs Heap and Miss Ansett

Friday 8th January 2021

 Hello All

We have all made it to Friday! We have enjoyed talking with some of you and hopefully when we sort out your Google classroom logins we will see you for a story too!

Did you try the shaving foam activity yesterday! We had fun today making marks to music going up and down and side to side and round and round!

Yesterday we left some water outside in bowls and do you know what it changed into ice!

Maybe you could do this at home.

Fill some containers with water and place it outside or in the freezer.

You could add small items to the water.

The next day look at the container on a tray.

Did the water freeze and turn into ice?

let it melt or perhaps let your child try to release the toys from the ice!

Here is a simple counting matching game numbers 1-5 to play

Finally for a story and I think you will all enjoy “we’re going on a bear hunt” read by Michael Rosen

Have a lovely weekend we may even get some snow which would be great fun!

Take care

Mrs Penn, Mrs Heap and Miss Ansett

Remote Learning – Just Wow!

Hi all,

I just wanted to post on our school website as well as our Google Classroom page how much I have enjoyed opportunities to talk to you while you have been at home this week, whether that is through an email, the class stream, comments on learning, in a video call or on the phone!

As time goes on, we will all find ways of working that best fit for each of us:

  • Some of you are enjoying completing learning on the computer and submitting it through the classroom – that is brilliant.
  • Some of you are completing learning on paper at home and letting me know you have done some – that is brilliant!
  • Some of you are collecting paper copies of learning activities to complete at home – that is brilliant!
  • Some of you are sending photos of other activities you are doing at home with your family – that is brilliant!

I will keep uploading learning to our google classroom page and leaving printed packs at the front of the school, please keep in touch – phone me, email or comment on the stream and I will get back to you.

Thanks again,

Miss Shopland

Thursday 7th January 2021

Hello Everyone!

We hope you are keeping safe and well? We are sure you are having lots of fun activities at home this week!

Did you enjoy the 5 currant rhyme? Did you make  a little shop with your own buns?

Today I was reminded of a lovely fun activity you could try using either baby lotion or shaving foam on a tray. Your child  can explore movements in the foam or lotion. This is great way to develop hand strength and coordination! Send me a photo!

Today’s story is : Brown Bear, brown bear What do you see?

Thursday 7th January

Good Morning

I always LOVE to see photos of your brilliant learning at home.  Visual number games seem very popular at the moment.

The game below was created by Miss Lofthouse to support memory skills. Have fun.

Role play with a personally created volcano…WOW what a wonderful idea to build your own role play worlds.

WHAT WOULD YOU BUILD or use to create your own imaginary world?

Continue to have fun learning through play and stay safe.
