Year 3 Remote Learning – Friday 13th November

Good morning everyone,

It has been fantastic to catch up with you all over the past couple of days!

I have added a couple more activities on Purple Mash for you to explore.  You will find ‘Matching Digits to Words’ and ‘Making Phrases Interesting’ (noun – name of an object / adjective – a word that describes a noun).

You could continue with the History activities; there were lots to choose from.

Have a great learning Friday and weekend.

Good morning year 3.

It was great to talk to some of you yesterday!  If I didn’t manage to call you, don’t worry I will give you a telephone call today.  I have set up some work for you to dip in and out of.

Purple Mash: Words and Numeral tasks

Bug Club: Exceptional Words game

Topic: Your next history topic is Iron and Stone Age.  On Purple Mash, I have allocated you a slide show to watch which gives you lots of information.  Below there is a link to a document.  On there are lots of different tasks you can choose to complete.  I hope you have fun doing these.  Make sure you send lots of photos to Mr Whitty, it will really cheer him up seeing these.

Year 3 Remote Learning Bubble – Wednesday 11th November 2020

Good morning year 3!

I hope you are all keeping well!

From the activities and learning Mr Whitty has set so far, I can see you have been quite busy.  I hope you are enjoying completing them.  Mr Whitty has set home learning for today so watch this space for different activities being posted tomorrow.

I have set you a couple of tasks on Purple Mash.  These tasks are to give your fingers a work out and increase your speed when typing.  I had a go yesterday and got 80%; I am going to keep practicing so I can become faster!  Let me know what your highest score is.  You can keep practising as many times as you like.

Have a great learning Wednesday.

Year 3 Bubble Remote Learning Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th November 2020

Hello Year 3,

Please see the learning opportunities for Tuesday and Wednesday. Just like previous days use them as best fits for you. The learning might spark an idea for you to do some further research into a topic linked to the learning. It would be fantastic to see the outcome of any learning you do. Do not forget to upload it to the website through the splash page.

There are opportunities to become more knowledgeable about remembrance. You can become an expert speller of high frequency words or you could become brilliant at giving directions. Bug club is also a fantastic resource so have fun doing that too.

You can still look back and do learning from other days, just click on that day’s learning to discover more or to have another go at the snakes and ladders game!

Please take care and be safe…

See you soon,

Mr Whitty

Hello Year 3,

I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend with your families.

Please see the learning opportunities for today. Just like on Friday, please use them as best fits for you.

There are opportunities to become vocabulary detectives by investigating some science words. You can become an expert speller of high frequency words or you have the chance to show off your lightning-fast memory skills by learning number bonds for maths. Bug clubs is also a fantastic resource so have fun doing that too.

If you have not seen Friday’s resources yet, make sure and check them out too. There are activities such as map making, a book review, snakes and ladders, dicey addition to explore just to name a few.

Please take care and be safe…

See you soon,

follow up activities

Hi Year 4,

We hope you are all keeping well.  We had a great start to our learning last week so we have put together some follow up activities for you to complete at home with your family.

  • Days, Months, Days in a Month
  • Interesting Sentences
  • Last week you drew a map of the classroom linked to our geography learning ‘Map Reading’.  We would like you to draw a map of a room in your house.  Can you challenge yourself and draw a key?
  • Read a chapter of your favourite book to someone in your house.  Make sure you use different tones in your voice to make it sound more interesting.

We will be in touch soon!

Take care,

Mrs Russell and Mrs Cousins

Year 3 and 4 Learning Bubble for Friday, 6th November 2020

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well and that you are staying safe. I feel terrible that I cannot be with you today and that we cannot be together. Over the last three days we have built a really good relationship. Each and every one of you are fantastic learners and individuals. Make sure you give yourself a big pat on the back as you deserve it.

Thank you for allowing me to be your teacher and I cannot wait to support you from home and again in the classroom when I return.

Please use the learning I have uploaded in a way which best fits for you. I hope you find it fun and interesting.

In the pack you will find;

  • some reading on BUGCLUB,
  • write a review of your favourite book,
  • maths: playing a game called dicey addition,
  • map reading and drawing skills. We have started our journey on learning about maps and map reading. I would like children to have a go at making a map of a room in your house. Use the PowerPoint to help you,
  • snakes and ladders, there is no better game to play than snakes and ladders. You will need a dice, some counters and a bit of luck to succeed. Practice counting as you play up and down the board (there are two to choose from).

Make sure you take care and stay safe.

Missing you all lots,

Mr Whitty

ABSENCE ARRANGEMENTS –
We are continuing to ask parents to make contact with the school in the event that your child is
absent. In the event that the absence is COVID related e.g. waiting for a test or self isolating, a
member of school staff will make contact to discuss any arrangements for the setting of home
learning. The discussion will be based on what best fits you and your child’s needs, in order that
we can provide learning which bests supports your individual circumstances.
If you wish to discuss arrangements for your child’s learning whilst they are off from school, please contact the
school office via the usual means and your child’s class teacher will return your call.

WE NEED TO ASK FOR YOUR HELP TO KEEP US ALL SAFE!
– Arrive not too early, for drop-off and pick up – as close to 8.30am and 3.15pm as possible please.
– Follow the ‘in’ and ‘out’ lanes on the Queensway drive.
– Keep all children close to you when on the school site.
– Keep moving away from the school gates to prevent any ‘pinch points’ at busy times.
