It was so wonderful to hear so many of your voices on the telephone today. You made me smile so much. I will try to speak to everyone else tomorrow as I didn’t manage to say HELLO to everyone today.

I am pleased to hear about the fun that you are having together as families, being happy and smiling is one of the most important things for everyone at the moment. Keep enjoying spending time together engaging in things that make you all happy.

This is a site where your children can listen to a range of traditional told stories :- https://www.treehousetheatre.com/

As libraries are closed I have found a site where you can explore a range of books for free. You can read these books to your child or listen to the story together. Some books even have the story being told using signing.

 Tuesday

Hello everyone!

We hope that you have been able to stay healthy and safe with your families over the Easter break?

Did you get an Easter egg?

I have been with my family and we have been gardening, walking the dog, reading books and playing games like “Banana grams!”

Did you manage any of the activities we suggested you do over the Easter break?

Have your peas grown?

Please email to let us know or send a photo of something you made!

I hope you have managed some reading this Easter. This week choose one of your Bug Club books and read it everyday! (you all should still have books and you can always choose one from your library!) When you read the books please click on the bugs to answer the questions.

May we wish a happy birthday to Evelyn and Roary who both turn 4years old during this month, April!

We will post some new activities tomorrow take care,

Mrs Penn, Mrs Coleman and Mrs Heap

Painting with water maybe make your own brushes from pegs!

Play memory games eg. 4 cups of different colours hide an item under each cup can you remember what is hidden under each cup?

We have enjoyed singing “In the hairy scary castle” this half term. Use the you tube clip and teach your family the song with actions I think the clip sung by Pauline Willoughby and/or Dany Rosevear are very good.

Enjoy listening to story tellers telling our stories of this term:

The Gingerbread man: you tube told by Tony Wilson

Our new story for after Easter is “The Enormous Turnip”

( find a version of this story to enjoy)

Finger Fun Friday and Easter Holiday Fun

Hello Everyone Good Morning

I understand that some of you may have had difficultly opening up some of the documents this week. I have saved all of  the documents again as PDF’s so hopefully these will open on you phones, laptops etc. Click on the blue words for the PDF downloads for Thursday’s Challenge Bug Hunt Sheet  Monday’s Challenge Creative Thinking

Dough Disco Finger Strengthening Fun… Remember we have used video this in class!  Have fun.

Use can your own dough or EVEN make your own dough first

I saw some lovely pictures sent from families today (Thursday 26th March) of memory work and outside exploration  So today’s Friday’s Challenge mixes the two skills together.

What do you remember seeing on your memory walk?

You can walk around your house or garden  In the house name one thing from each room or each part of the room. Again if you choose to complete your memory walk outside or in the garden . pick out 6 things you you see along the walk. When you get back to the start. See if you can recall all of the things you saw?...A harder skill CAN you remember them IN ORDER?

Easter Learning

This term we have been learning to tell and act out the Traditional Tale : The Gingerbread Man . I’ve added a link to the story that was shared across the Foundation Stage unit on 18th March. Listen again and see if you can join in with the familiar phrases.

After Easter we will be looking at the story of The Enormous Turnip

We had just started looking at line work before we left. Your Easter Challenge is  Can you decorate your own paper Easter Egg? . Remember we looked at various lines ….WavesZig Zags, Arches, Straight lines and  Dashes. You can use pens or thin strips of paper. Remember the strips of paper need two feet! You can show your parents what I mean.  When you have designed your egg.. Remember to create your own egg hunt. Hide your paper egg somewhere in your house or garden for your parents to find.

F2 Children Remember to access you Bug Club account

Outside Exploration & Memory Games for F1 and F2

Hello Everyone Its Thursday already!

HUGE Thank you again for the photos of your learning. KEEP THEM COMING. One photo I was sent today reminded me to ask  you all , How is your cress growing ?

I will look out for your photos or questions about the learning everyday. The photos that were sent today shows me how creative you are being with the material you have at home. BRILLIANT.

Its been a beautiful day today and I hope that you managed to spend a moment in the sunshine. It was truly wonderful and I loved seeing the butterflies dancing around my garden.  I was not so pleased to find millipedes and spiders but I know you would have loved to find them.  Your photos show me how you are learning both inside and outside… chalking in the garden and painting rockets outside, Wonderful.

I wonder what insects you can find in your outdoor space?Bug Hunt Sheet

Also today Thursday 26th March  I wonder if you can try to create and play a memory games together. You can even collect items around the house for your own memory game.

OR You could even make collect items from your outside space or garden to use in the game. See what you can find.

Game One:  Play  Which one is missing? Remember to name them all and then cover them over with a piece of material your partner closes their eyes and an item is removed . Then the items are uncovered …you have to guess which one is missing? Game Two:  If you find two of each item, you can play Match the items!  place the items into pots, one pot per item, You can create your own lids from paper etc,  then you have to remember the placement of a pair of items. Your family can mix the pots up before you start to make it harder!

.

Game Three Below is an on line memory game that we have used in class….Can you hold all of the images in you mind?

The Pirate Song for both F1 and F2 Children

Wednesday 25th March

Thank you for sending me your creative loose parts pictures.  I look forward to being sent other photos across the week of your white board writing, creative pictures or number bonds explorations and play!  Click here to download the:.Creative Thinking    explanation from Monday 23rd. These home activities are for both Nursery and Reception children.

I have uploaded two photos from today’s home learning onto the schools main website . Have a look under the Foundation Stage pages on the main website.

I am sure that you remember the You Tube clip image above that we used in our singing and rhyming sessions across the last week of term .  Enjoy this song and dance at home with your family. See if you can remember the rhyming words within the song.

Please try to access Bug Club everyday with your child. Please focus on one book in detail and keep repeating this same book across a few days until your child is able to read the sentences fluently.  However, your child can play numerous phonics games that have been added onto their individual Bug Club page.

Do let me know if you have problem accessing the Bug Club site.

F1 Families :- If your Nursery child would like access to Bug Club which will allow them to look at books on line,  please do let me know. The first books have no words and the children just have to create their own stories using their language knowledge.

Home Learning using Loose Parts

Tuesday March 24th 2020

A house was created after searching in his house for items!      A rainbow,  rainbow circle and a bunny bookmark.

Thank you for sending in photos of your child’s learning.

Remember there aren’t any rules about what you can and can’t use when using loose parts and it is good to keep adding new materials and mixing things up. The same materials can be used in so many different ways by combining them with various other materials to produce different results each time.

Remember you don’t need to use glue and the items can be saved and used again.

Week beginning 23rd March : Wednesday

Hello Everyone!

We hope you are managing to try some of the challenges and activities that we are setting for you on the home learning pages Foundation Stage Base 1 and 2? Please email the office and let us know how you are getting on! The cuddly toy balance and coordination activity is quite challenging~ can increase the number of toys you can lift from 5-10?

Image result for pea seeds

Are you remembering to care for the pea seeds you took home on Friday. Remember the pot needs to be placed on a window sill and you need to keep the soil MOIST not WET!! Remember the pea seed will swell and a little root will grow down and a little shoot will grow up and poke through the soil keep looking out for this to happen!

Enjoy reading books together!
