Friday 17th April Baking and Drawing

Good Morning..

I hope you enjoyed the sun yesterday and the physical challenges. Today I’m setting another physical challenge but this time a challenge for your arm muscles and finger muscles. Baking and Drawing …. I’ve added one recipe and photos I’ve had of families baking.  I wonder what your favourite recipe might be?

Reece’s biscuits    From Austin’s mum

Austin’s mum has sent in a range of recipes for me to share. I will add more next week. I undertook her challenge today following the recipe she had sent for  Gluten Free Carrot Cupcakes .  I did not have enough cake cases so, it turned into a carrot cake loaf instead.

My Carrot Cake loaf

This evening THURSDAY  at 8pm did you clap and make noises to say THANK YOU to the amazing NHS?  I know many of you have made rainbows and placed these onto your windows which will be brightening up so many peoples day.

So Today’s Challenge is a drawing / painting challenge…. Draw a picture of yourself Smiling or ALL of your family which you can put onto your window for others to see .. These smiles and your drawing being placed onto your windows will bring smiles to all of your friends as they go on their one walk a day.

Enjoy today’s finger and arm challenges. I would love to be sent any recipes which you regularly use and I also look forward to seeing any pictures you create today.,  you might want to draw something completely different and that is perfectly ok.

Enjoy your weekend and I will add another challenge to our page on Monday. Please do let me know if your are having any difficulties accessing or using Bug Club. I will be happy to find a way to help you.

Fun Outside!

Thursday 16th April 2020

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I began to make phone calls to all the children in Base 2 and it was so lovely hear your voices and chat with  your mums and dads. I am in school on Friday and will continue to phone everyone in Base 2 for a lovely catch up chat!

I have had some amazing photos sent of the fun things you have been doing at home and you can view some of these on the Foundation Stage Blog. Thomas is enjoying a daily walk and has had the idea of collecting items to bring back home and then he has used his maths skills to sort and count the items! You too could do this! The next time you go out for a walk take a small bag to find and collect different items like:

Fat sticks and thin sticks short and long sticks,  feathers , something red yellow green

different shaped leaves  and so on.

Bring them home and sort , count or arrange them to make a picture? Can you make a snail or a butterfly?? Or set a trail for a family member to follow leading to a surprise or maybe your own home made den!More activities can be found: https://www.getoutwiththekids.co.uk/activities/doing/activities-walking-woods-kids/ and the woodland trust web site!

I also learnt that some of you have been writing letters to each other! May be you could draw a picture for a neighbour or friend as a surprise! You may get a surprise back!

As ever stay safe and enjoy having fun with your families

Thursday 16th April Jumping and Hopping Skills

GOOD MORNING!

I hope you are all FULL of energy today!

Yesterday at our team meeting Miss Lofthouse wondered if we could set a Physical Challenge for all of the FS children on their daily walk….. So today I am setting a physical challenge which you could explore inside or outside during your one form of exercise a day.

What you will need for the challenge inside is a roll of masking tape or DIY tape.

Place a LONG  strip of masking tape onto the floor and you are ready!!

How many different ways can you move along this line?

  • Hop
  • Jump with feet together
  • walk toe to heel
  • wiggle on you tummy
  • walk backwards
  • How many different ways can you think of to travel along the line?
  • Can you think of more than 10?
  • I wonder if you can use these different moves alongside your favourite song ?…You might start to dance along the line!

How many different ways of moving can you use on your daily walk?

  • Skip
  • Jump
  • galloping
  • walking sideways
  • Jump then Hop
  • Walking on tip toes
  •  How many more way of moving can you use on you daily walk?

Keep Smiling, Keep Safe and enjoy today’s physical challenge. Miss Butler

Wednesday 15th April

Hello All

It is a bit chilly today but the sun is shining which always makes me smile! 🙂

Make a den at home! Have fun creating a den!  Can you rise to the challenge to create a den from things you have around the house like sheets and pegs and how many of your family members can fit in your den? (see the Home Learning page Foundation stage base 1)

Are you managing a daily walk? Perhaps when you are on your walk  set your self and your family some  challenges:

Can you run to the next lamp post?

Hop while you count to 20!

Skip along while you recite the alphabet song!

Jump over any cracks you can see in the path !

Walk around a tree forwards and then backwards!

Try out some of you own challenges and email me to let me know what you have have invented to do during your daily walk!

If you are staying inside try this challenge:

make a line with some masking tape or ribbon and think of how many ways you and your family can cross the tape using as many body movements as you can!

Take care and stay safe

Fun learning at home

It was lovely to see that Guy has made a super treasure box which he has proudly put in 10 golden coins! I wonder if he has found some more treasure over the Easter break!

Wednesday 15th April Den Building

Good Morning, Thank you for all of the messages, questions and photos that I have already received, you have all been doing so much over the Easter Break. It is so important to be happy and enjoy what you are doing.

I got home after work yesterday and started baking, smiling to myself as I had messages from family who were also baking! I had also been talking to many families across Monday afternoon who have all been baking together at home over Easter.  What have you enjoyed cooking or baking together? I would love to see photos…..before you eat everything!  It also made me smile as families mentioned about your love of licking out the bowls….THE BEST BIT!!!   I will try to share images and simple recipes across the week.

Today’s challenge, which you might want to try…… Can you create a den, fort or cave using everyday items?

  • pegs
  • sheets / blankets
  • chairs or table
  • indoor clothes drier
  • cushions
  • Tape and paper for the sign.  What will your den or fort be called?

I wonder….??? Will you build a den just for yourself or one which you can will fit all of your family inside? What would you want to put inside your den?

I created dens with my youngest  nephew over the Easter Break…these were via video links!! I must say virtual dens are harder to make but also GREAT fun!! At one point we were all hiding in dens!! It was very funny…. Enjoy having fun today and let me see what you manage to create. Each one will be completely different… which is perfect.

Best wishes and Keep Safe and continue to SMILE. Miss Butler
