Anyone with a positive COVID-19 test result is advised to try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for five days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice ‘THREE DAYS’.

When you make contact with school, it’s really helpful if you can tell the admin team when the positive test was taken. Thank you.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth ll, our queen for 70 years, school will be closed on Monday 19^th September. This, the day of her funeral, has been made a bank holiday so that people can reflect upon or celebrate her life in whatever way they would wish. We look forward to seeing everyone back with us on Tuesday 20^th September as normal.

It has been wonderful to see children and families returning or beginning new journeys with us following the long summer break. Thank-you for all of the effort that we know goes in to getting your children looking so good and be so prepared for the start of the school year. You’ll be getting familiar again with routines both old and new – do speak to us if you have any questions or concerns about how these work for you and these begin to settle down.

Among the first things to look out for this term is the letter coming your way, via School Gateway as always, concerning after school clubs. We are really excited to be working closely with Premier Education in providing a range of after school clubs this year which will be led by the Premier team with Learning Partners alongside. We hope that this arrangement enables us to bring you more choice if your child wants to get involved in activities after the school day. Places for these clubs will be limited so please respond to the letter swiftly to avoid disappointment.

Over the coming year we will continue to use this newsletter, published each Wednesday, to keep you up to date with goings-on that may be of interest to you. Together with letters that will continued to be shared via the School Gateway, we hope that your able to keep in touch.

As always, should you have any questions, worries or concerns about events, daily routines or any aspects of your child’s school day please speak to us. Feel free to make contact at pick-up, drop-off or through our admin team – we will always be happy to make bespoke arrangements to talk with you if needed, or pick up queries on the spot. What’s more, if wider life is presenting challenges for your family we’d invite you to share these with us – we will be keen to help and may be able to support you in ways that could be helpful.

As the school year begins to draw to close we have only this final newsletter to share our thanks to you, our school community. Thanks for all of the support that you have given to your children during the course of the year; thanks for the time and effort that you have taken to talk to us, whether it be celebrating successes, seeking clarity, developing our or your own understanding, or even raising concerns. Without your commitment to your children and the wider school family we would be lost!

We have been celebrating the end of the year with you through some fantastic shared events recently – the Summer Fete raised £512, with Sports Day cream teas raising a further £112. We recognise that these events are as much (or more) about having the chance to share and connect as they are about raising money, but those sums are impressive and testament to the effort of the group of parents and friends of the school, our ‘Coffee and Cake’ team, who give so much energy to make things for us to enjoy happen. With days until the end of term there is one more whole school event to look forward to, our School Discos on Friday 22nd July. If you plan to come along, please make sure that you have filled in the necessary reply slip, available from the school office now.

With opportunities to visit your child’s new class happening after school today, the Year 6 Leavers’ Evening on Thursday and Celebration Assemblies on Friday (as usual) and Monday at 9.00am (our end of year event) we hope to see more of you before the term ends.

All pupil absences from school can only be agreed by the school in advance, so it is therefore very important that you apply to the school by completing an S2 form as far in advance of any absence as is reasonably possible. Please be aware that a school can only authorise leave in ‘exceptional circumstances’.

The S2 form can be requested from the school office.

You will all be aware of how busy the Courtyard is at the end of the school day, please can we ask that once you have collected your child that you keep an eye on their whereabouts. Whilst there are often school staff in the Courtyard at the end of the day, they are often engaged in discussion with parents/carers and don’t have an overview of what is happening on the Courtyard, where children are or who is leaving the site. The responsibility for children once they have been handed over to parents/carers rests with parents.

Please do speak with your child’s class teacher if there are individual arrangements you want putting in place for your child. Thank you

As always at this time of year, we are thinking about transition for your children into their new classes. Currently teachers are working on collecting information about your child as an individual and a learner to share with their new teacher.

A newsletter will be sent to parents/carers on Tuesday 5^th July informing you of your child’s new teacher, transition arrangements and what opportunities will be in place for them next year.

Please can we remind parents/carers that the start of the school day is 8.50am, any child arriving after this time is marked as LATE. The school gates close at 8.50am, children arriving after this time are recorded as late.

Parents can bring children to school between 8.35am and 8.50am as part of our flexible start to the day, this enables children to get settled into their classroom, reconnect with their friends and feel ready for the day.

When children arrive late for school it causes them discomfort, as the day has already started and they are aware that they haven’t had the opportunities which benefit them in having a good start to the day.
