Wow. What a day! We had the best assembly, I’ve ever been to this morning. We found nine new tier 2 words to use instead of ‘sad’. We used inductive and deductive processes to explore and confirm the essential features of information texts. We all completed our multiplication grids correctly and started applying our learning to solve puzzles and problems. We shared the first chapters of Macbeth, complete with scary witch voices. Oh and we launched a rocket. I wonder what we will get do on Monday?
I’m just popping up a quick note to say the year has started amazingly well for the year 2s. We are all keen, eager and excited to be back together and ready for learning. In the first few weeks, we are really focusing on our R-Time skills of showing we respect and value each other by listening to each when one person at a time speaks. We are also working on our letter formation to get that smooth, flowing cursive hand writing and fully embedding our understanding of two digit numbers. So much has happened this week. We’ve used instructions to make concrete, we’ve learned how to add two digit numbers, we’ve learned what cm, m, kg and l mean after numbers and used them to measure ourselves, we’ve written instruction with questions and exclamations and we’ve been on a trip to town to spot materials being used around us as well as popping in to the library to choose our creative reading books.
