Good Morning Everyone
I hope that you enjoyed a music, singing and dancing session yesterday at home.. At school I was introduced to music from the New Troll film…. ALL NEW TO ME! I didn’t know a single word… I have a lot to learn!

I wonder how your painting went today on your salt dough? We painted outside in the sunshine, it dried so much quicker. We have another coat to add next week.
Today we worked with sheets of card and everyone came up with different ways to use their card.
- Drawing pictures
- Making a magic wand and decorating it with gems
- Designing a Peppa Pig baby
- Peppa Pig
- A drawing
- A magic wand
I wonder what you would make if you were given a sheet of white card? … The children requested the other items to complete their own projects… They are just BRILLIANT.
The children also had great fun playing in the mud kitchen … I wonder if you have a piece of mud in your garden which could be your mud kitchen… They made their own pretend food with natural ingredients.

In the afternoon we went to Forest School and we explored the new hammock and traversing rope… You need to have great upper arm skills to be able to pull yourself along the rope.

Have a great day and I wonder what you would make and design from a piece of card…. Cutting card is also a hard physical skill so I suggest that you explore your children’s cutting skill before you start designing.
- Cutting Grass
- Cutting cooked spaghetti
- Cutting playdough
- Cutting paper. Cutting along lines and learning to turn scissors
Find out…What can your child cut totally independently? How does your child hold their scissors?
If they still use two hands, find a softer/ easier material for them to cut and demonstrate how to hold the scissors in just one hand. It takes time and LOADS of practice to use scissors in one hand. Cutting is another brilliant handwriting activity.
