Welcome back everyone!

It was amazing to be able to welcome the children back today. Being able to come back to familiar faces and a familiar environment made the new ways of doing things much easier to get to grips with. I feel really sorry for anyone (adult or child) who has gone back to a completely new way of doing things in new environments, without the support of familiar, trusted relationships to rely on.

The children have come back happy and eager to learn. There are no massive holes or gaps, the knowledge and skills they had has not collapsed, their skills and attributes as learners are still there, we just need to brush off a few cobwebs and remind ourselves of a few bits and pieces and we will be back up to speed in no time.

The hard work, thought and effort that you put into making the lock down experience a positive one for your children paid off. There has been no anxiousness around learning not being completed, just a sharing of the wonderful experiences your children had during their time with you. Well done to all of you for resisting the pressure to just ‘do as your told’ and having the courage and confidence to rely on your own trust and judgment and knowledge of what is best for your child.

So we are now in our bubble!

Today we thought and talked about how things constantly change and how we, as human beings, are able to manage those changes by utilising our super power of choice. We thought about the choices we need to make to keep our selves and others safe and happy in these changes.

We realised that saying “I can’t.” stops us from doing everything, but saying “I can if….” makes everything possible as long as we know what the ‘if’s need to be. That is our job over the coming weeks; to work out what those ‘if’s are that enable us all to be successful and build those into a working toolkit for us to use when we need it..

I can’t wait until tomorrow!

All the best

Mr F.
