Year 3 and 4 Netball Festival

On Wednesday 10th November, Mr Patchett, from Newton Abbot College, came into our school and held a year 3 and 4 Netball Festival.  There were different activities on the playground which supported our netball skills, developed our confidence and saw us collaborating with others.  It was a great afternoon which we all enjoyed.  We are looking forward to working with Mr Patchett again.

YEAR 6 PLAYLEADERS

As our playtimes begin to involve more children from different year groups we are pleased to say that we
have a team of 11 Playleaders who will be supporting activities and relationships each dinner time. Led by Mrs
Louise and meeting after school each Tuesday, we are really pleased and proud of what they are bringing
already. The team will be awarded their Playleader badges in our celebration assembly this Friday.
Congratulations!

IT’S GETTING COLDER!

As we head into the depths of Autumn, the days are getting shorter and colder. As you know we are always keen for children to get outside and enjoy some time in the fresh air on the playground.

With this in mind, please can we ask you to remind your child to wear a warm coat to school, a scarf, some gloves and a hat would also be supportive of keeping them warm.

Finally if your child’s items can have their name in them, that would be great!

HOW TO STAY SAFE AT HALLOWEEN

Halloween will take place for the second time during a global pandemic, children enjoy dressing up and having fun during Halloween. Here are a few reminders to supporting your
child in keeping safe:
 Experts are recommending children social distance.
 They are also suggesting limiting party sizes and indoor events.
 The Delta variant is more transmissible, especially among children, and is causing more hospitalizations for children than any other time in the pandemic.
 Keep your child at home if they are sick.

PARKING

Please can we remind parents that there is no vehicle access for parents between 8.35am and 9.00am and 3.10pm and 3.25pm;

We would ask that parents do not park on the zig zag lines close to both sets of school gates. These areas ensure the safe passage of children and parents to and from school. You are looking after your school community by keeping these areas clear.

WE ARE A MUSIC MARK SCHOOL

Devon and Torbay Music Education Hub has nominated Haytor View for the Music Mark Award, recognising the value we place on music as part of our school curriculum.

We believe that each child deserves the chance to learn and play musical instruments and are committed to delivering a high-quality music provision within our school community.
