GOOD GROWING FOUNDATION STAGE CHILDREN!
It was a joy to see the foundation stage children carrying their sunflower plants into school following the half term break, they had clearly shown the plants a lot of love and nurture as they were really thriving. Soon enough we’re sure to have an oasis of sunflowers in the setting. Well done!
PARENT MEETINGS
It was great to see so many parents joining us during our non-pupil day dedicated to meeting with you before the half term break. It’s so valuable to be able to catch up and listen to any thoughts, questions or concerns that you may have. If this opportunity didn’t work for you, your child’s teacher will be in touch to try and arrange an alternative time to meet. Alternatively get in contact with them and they will be happy to fit you in at a time that works for you.
Lucas Jet Circus
Lucas and Jonny came to our school to show us some fantastic circus skills. They taught us how to balance a feather, use diablos, spin plates and juggle. Every class from Reception to Year 6 took part. At the end of the day, Lucas and Jonny gave an amazing performance. Some of the children even participated in the show!
We cannot wait to have them back next year!
Looking forward to the rest of the Summer Term
We can’t wait to see you again for the second half of the summer term. Remember the Monday is a non-pupil day when staff will be learning about our new approach to teaching phonics, ‘Monster Phonics’. We’ll be back together again on Tuesday 7th June. Have a great half term – it looks like the sun might be shining!
WELL DONE YEAR 6
As many of you will be aware Year 6 undertook their SATs week last week, and what a success they made of it! Their approach, positive attitude and support for each other was an inspiration and to be admired.
Everyone gave their absolute best during the week and are to be congratulated on their experience. Well done!
PARKING
As with all schools we are aware of the challenges posed at drop off and pick up times, due to the lack of availability of parking for parents on the school site and surrounding area.
With this in mind, we ask parents to be mindful that the school entrance and yellow zig Zag lines are areas where cars should not be parked. These areas are designated as ‘no parking’ areas in order to support the safety of children and parents accessing the school site. We appreciate your support with this in keeping your children safe, thank-you.
START OF THE SCHOOL DAY IS 8.50am
Please can we remind parents / carers that the start of the school day is 8.50am, any child arriving after this time is marked as LATE. Parents can bring children to school between 8.35am and 8.50am as part of our flexible start to the day, this enables children to get settled into their classroom, reconnect with their friends and feel ready for the day. When children arrive late for school it causes them discomfort, as the day has already started and they are aware that they haven’t had the opportunities which benefit them in having a good start to the day. Thank you
WELCOME TO OUR NEW PARENT GOVERNOR
Follow our Parent Election we are delighted to announce that Travis MacFarlane has been appointed to the
Full Governing Board, he attended the last meeting of the Spring term following his appointment and will
make a great addition to our Governing Board.
Thank you to all of those parents who voted for their choice of Governor, your contribution was very valuable.
We were fortunate to have 2 nominees, and whilst Amy Pintus-May was not successful we are meeting with
her in order to further discuss opportunities within the Governing Board.
Thank you to Amy and Travis for putting themselves forward.
KEEP SAFE WHEN ARRIVING AND LEAVING SCHOOL
The school gates open at 8.30am ahead of doors to classes opening giving access to the courtyard. Please take care of yourselves and your children if you arrive ahead of gates opening. At the start and end of the day the car park and driveway are in active use. We would encourage you to not allow your children to ride scooters in the car park and driveway area during this time. We also encourage you to keep your children close to you when arriving and leaving the school site, as this will keep your children safe.
