After the toughest of terms, we are delighted to be seeing the impact of the approaches we have taken with the children in our care starting to become apparent. Our intention, on returning from such a suddenly announced lockdown, was to ensure all the children felt safe, well and happy to be at school and so, be ready to learn alongside us again when things finally settle down. We made the decision to focus our capacities on how well the children in our care ARE, not how well they DO.
Because of the approach we have taken, children are well on their way to making sense of all that has happened to them and those they know, love and care about. It has been incredibly hard to implement, but the impact of this approach is very pleasing so far; just look at what the 6 and 7 year old children who we have been working with in this approach have to say.
