One of our families respectfully informed us that they were going to attend the Friday for Future gathering in Exeter this Friday.
This inspired us and gave us a great opportunity to come together as a KS 1 team to explore aspects of geography, history and citizenship with the children within a thoroughly up to date context. Using first hand accounts and internet resources, we were able to explore what Fridays For Future is, the science, theories and opinions behind it, why it exists and the inspirational personalities driving and supporting it.
Whilst we could not support or encourage families to keep their children out of school, we can be hugely respectful and understanding to any individual who feels the need to make such a choice.
