Hello everyone!

May the 4th be with you! I’d love to see if any of you do anything special to celebrate Star Wars and The Force today!

I hope you had an enjoyable weekend? The weather this looking a bit grey so we will be focusing on food this week as we can do this inside. If any of you have any ‘My News’ writing you want me to see, feel free to send me a photo. An example of how you can write a great one is here. My news example

Make sure, whatever you do, you keep reading. Bug Club is all updated for reading, spelling and grammar, please complete the activities fully so I can see when you need the next one.

This week’s Math’s focus is about Telling the time. you are all pretty good at this so you should be able to do this quite well, but practice is the key to being able to do it fluently, so this week, make sure you are reading time as much as you can.  Here is a copy of the working wall that we put together to remnind us how we read a clock.

This week, the daily suggestions we will be giving will all be around the food that we eat.

The first step is to start a food diary, recording all of the food we eat each day. We can keep this going until Friday and then analyse (analyse means look at carefully and think about) what foods we have in our diet.

Here is my food diary for Saturday so you can see what I mean.

Breakfast

Banana, Coffee, milk, 2 slices of fruity bread and jam, a glass of orange juice

Snack

cup of tea, fruit cake

Lunch

sandwiches with lettuce, ham and cheese, some chilli chutney and a packet of crisps

Snack

Another Packet of crisps!

Glass of water

Tea

Pork chops

Carrots

Potatoes

Broccoli

Cheese sauce

Glass of water

Snack

Packet of crisps

Coca cola

Cheese

crackers

I’ve made a sheet for you to use if you want to, My food diary for or you can just keep your own record.

Tomorrow, I will send you some links so you can research what are the FOOD GROUPS we need to have in our diet to keep ourselves in tip top health.

Wednesday, we can use this knowledge to plan a balanced meal (and maybe queue up to get the ingredients!)

Thursday, with the help of your adults, we can prepare, cook and serve it and Friday we can evaluate our meal and diets.(think about how well things went)

I can’t wait until we are all together as a class again!

All the best

Mr F.
