Ian Patchett, from Newton Abbot College, came into our school and worked with classes from foundation stage to year 6.  In foundation stage Ian supported the children in developing their core strength skills on the lower apparatus.  A group of children from year 5 and 6 worked collaboratively together on team games.  Year 5 developed their fitness and stamina engaging in Vigorous Activity.  Years 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 had a great afternoon in Netball Festivals.

“It was great to see all of the students engaging in a range of different sporting activities. During the festivals, we broke the skills into simple activities where the students were able to focus on the specific skill that they were working. The students did a great job, and clearly have developed a range of core techniques that are needed for all ball sports such as throwing, catching and shooting. I am looking forwards to going back to the school and seeing how this gets developed into some small sided invasion activities” Ian Patchett.
