On Thursday, the year 4 children worked alongside Monica-Shanta from Daisi. They were exploring ‘Drawing Conversations – Expressing Emotions through Art’. The children learnt how drawings can communicate emotions. Monica took the children through different approaches to drawing in a series of exercises which explored how we use our bodies to draw and how mark-making expresses and communicates emotion. After individual activities, the children worked in pairs and in groups to create collaborative ‘Drawing Conversations’ – an exercise which became a powerfully focused and bonding experience of visual talking and listening. The children had a great day and really enjoyed themselves – especially using the charcoal!
