Hello everyone!

What a beautiful sunny day Wednesday turned out to be! We hope you were able to play in your outside space and go for a walk or perhaps a bike ride or scooter ride! Remember to upload any photos of you doing your fun activities and I will write back to you and perhaps put your photo on the web page for you all to see. ( if you are finding it hard to upload onto the Haytor View website please use admin@haytorview.devon.sch.uk and message for Mrs Penn.)

Of course this is a long weekend as Friday is a Bank Holiday to celebrate May Day and  75 years since VE Day! Alfie has made some bunting to go in his window thanking all the people who have done things for our country in the past and those that are still doing so today: all carers and Key workers and the NHS. You could make some bunting like Alfie and spot flags that might be flying in your neighbourhood.

Are you still enjoying doing some physical activities in and outside. Why not try this these:

Physical Challenge 1

When on your daily walk choose an item that you must not walk on: it might be cracks in the road, sticks, puddles! Remember to jump over these or carefully tip toe between them!

Physical Challenge 2

Set up a line of tins that you can run in and out of (about 10) at one end have some cuddly toys at the other a box. Weave in and out of the tine to collect a cuddly toy and then weave back to place it in the box. Repeat.  Can other members of your family do this? Time yourself Who can get the most in 1 minute?

Physical Challenge 3

For building upper arm strength.

You have your hands on the floor and someone holds your feet can you move like this round your room?

I hope you were able to help make the lunch this week? When I was talking to Ella yesterday she said she was making an ice lolly with no stick a bit like a Calippo! So Today’s challenge is to make some ice lollies, you will have to wait for these to set. Thank you for this idea Ella!

(grown ups please  support your child but let them try all the skills like pouring  and making choices of flavours etc.)

  1. wash your hands
  2. collect some small containers: ice cube tray, small plastic cups
  3. make your favourite  drink  in a small jug and then pour into the container: you may make squash or even a yogurt smoothie (you could add some fruit to if you want) or use fruit juice your choice!
  4. place in the freezer and allow to freeze. (probably over night)
  5. Enjoy.

Today’s story  is an old favourite but has lots of actions and sounds in so sit back  listen and enjoy Micheal Rosen retelling of the “We’re Going on a bear Hunt!”

Can you create a hunt for one of your toys either in the house or in your garden. Where will your toys cave be? Which way do you and your family need to go to find it? Do you need to draw  a map or write some directions? What will you go over, under or through?

Please continue to stay happy and remain safe this weekend and we will post some new activities on Monday for you!
