How to Catch Santa Christmas Performance!
Wow. What a week of performances! All of the children and parents in Year 1 should be feeling incredibly proud. All of the children have put in an incredible amount of thought, care and consideration around their performances which has lead to them being incredible. Thank you to all the support from parents and adults we have received along the way from the script learning to the cheers in the hall. Thank you!
Year 1 Christmas Visit to the Methodist Church.
Year 1 loved their recent visit to the Methodist church where the class were able to participate in a range of craft activities. The children began the trip (after a bit of a climb up the hill!) by watching a story about the Nativity. The children then discussed the story that they had listened to before heading off into teams where they were able to create their own Christmas crafts centered around the Christmas Story to take home. 
Year 3 / 4 Base 1 Christmas Home Learning

Please find below the Christmas Home Learning. It is due in on Monday, 6th January 2020. Reading is still expected to be completed and recorded over the Christmas period. It is a great opportunity to catch up with a good book and to have some down time reading over the holidays.

Tesco’s Choir
On Thursday 5th December the choir sang at Tesco’s in Newton Abbot. It was a fantastic, but nervous experience singing to such a large amount of people. They all did extremely well spreading festive cheer whilst people were shopping. Members of the public commented on how amazing the choir sounded. A massive thank you also goes to parents, carers and friends who came to Tesco to support the choir in this event. May it be first of many!
PARENT QUESTIONNAIRES
Our Autumn Term Parent Questionnaire has now gone home with the children.
The draw for the £50 Argos voucher will take place in our final Celebration Assembly this year on Thursday 19th December – please make sure you return your questionnaire to be in with a chance of winning the voucher.

A fantastic example of great team home learning.
It was wonderful to come into school this morning and have one family excitedly present me with the home learning they had all done together over the weekend. they had got their child to write a recount of the weekend, but did not help him at all, instead let him struggle and make mistakes.
Then, once he had persevered and struggled through, they went back over the writing together to find those mistakes, to own them and correct them so they didn’t happen again. I could not believe the quality of relationships and understanding of learning that this shows and was delighted that Mum and Dad were able to be strong enough to take this approach and not step in to make things easier just when things got tricky.
Really well done.
CHRISTMAS CRAFT COMPETITION –
It’s becoming a Haytor View tradition that we invite children to create, with parents or without, decorations for our Christmas tree that will be proudly displayed in the Hub from 1st December. We are inviting decorations again this year and all those created will be entered into our Christmas Craft Competition, which will be judged on 12th December. This will see children from each class being recognised and celebrated in assembly on Friday 13th December. Get making – and make your Hub feel festive!
