Safer Internet Day 2018 – 6th February 2018

Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in over 100 countries to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. It provides an opportunity to inspire a big conversation, within families, classes, schools, and even nations! This year the theme is ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you’. On 6th February in particular we will be supporting children’s developing awareness of how their online lives can have an impact upon how they and others feel, and encouraging them to understand the role that they have in building respectful online communities.

In school on Tuesday 6th February there will be two special assemblies to which parents are invited. Our KS1 assembly, led by Mr Franklin will take place at 2.30pm in the Studio, while our Key Stage 2 assembly, led by Mr Hankin, will take place in the hall at 9.00am. Miss Butler’s team in the Foundation Stage will also be sharing opportunities linked to the day.

Alongside these events there will be opportunities shared with children throughout the week linked to the key message of Safer Internet Day. Please speak to your child’s teacher if you’d like to know more – we hope you are able to join us.
