Today, we explored how what we do on the internet could make us unsafe.
We focused on games and videos as that is what we do most of.
The children were able to share their experiences of things that had made them feel unsafe on line.
The examples they gave were when people said or did horrible things to them while they were playing games, or they saw things in games or videos which gave them night mares or when people used bad words and said nasty things to them.
The children told us that their adults did not know they were scared or upset and that adults couldn’t hear the bad things that were being said because only they could hear them through their headsets.
Tomorrow, we will make sure the children think and talk about what they can do when they feel sad or unsafe on the internet and what they can do to make sure they don’t get made to feel unsafe in the first place.
