In Year 1, we have been developing are skills in multiplicaction by using concrete models to support us (Numicon, Big Base, bead strings and cubes) and have now moved on to exploring arrays.During our maths learning this afternoon a couple of the Year 2s popped in. This was a great opportunity for the Year 1 children to share what they know about multiplication and arrays. The class helped the Year 2 children to work out what the number sentence for the array was. Well done Year 1 not only did you help the Year 2s, you also showed an impressive understanding of multiplication.
The children then explored the classroom and outside. We noticed that their are lots of arrays all around us!
