Year 2, along with the whole school have been having some experiences which support and underscore the reasons for wearing poppies at this time of

year.

Part of the experiences were family workshops on Tuesday where children and parents could make remembrance poppies which would be laid in a community event on Friday. This workshop was a very poignant event as children and parents wrote messages of remembrance and placed them on the backs of their poppies.

On Friday, the children walked down to Penn Inn with their parents and we all took part in a service of remembrance where the poppies were planted to form a our own field of Flanders. Events like these are important as they are the glue that bind us together in a shared gratitude for the sacrifices of those who fought to give us the freedoms and securities were enjoy today.

It was great that so many of our community were able to join us.
