ANTI-BULLYING WEEK 2017 Next week, beginning 13th November, we will be joining schools across the country in taking an active role throughout the school in Anti-Bullying Week. The national theme for the week is ‘All Different. All Equal’ and all children will experience opportunities to learn about and reflect upon the value that both similarities and differences between people bring to our school and our world. REMEMBRANCE WEEK Throughout this week poppies have been on sale in school as part of the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal. With national commemorations taking part over the weekend of 11th and 12th November, children in school will be engaging in their own age-appropriate experiences relating to this national event on Friday 10th November. Assemblies for children in Key Stage 2 this week will also focus upon remembering all those affected by conflict throughout the world. Writing Competition Success! Last year children from Mr Hankin’s class entered the Young Writers’ Crazy Creatures Competition – with over 40,000 entries this year it’s a popular event with the prospect of winners having their stories published in a book that will go on sale in January 2018. Incredibly this year we have achieved unprecedented levels of success with many of our children, some now in Year 7 and others in Year 6, having been selected to have their stories published.
