World Book Day – Thursday 7th March 2019

Just a reminder that we are all looking forward to World Book Day next week – we’re asking all children to bring in a favourite book to show others during the day, and we’ll be kicking off with an assembly that all are welcome to at 9.15am, followed by a Book Sharing session from 9.30-10.00am in classrooms – parents and friends are invited to join that too. Only if children and parents wish, children can get dressed up as a character from their favourite book – these is no expectation that children come to school in fancy dress. If not wearing fancy dress we’re asking children to please wear school uniform (we have non-uniform days planned later in the year). The choice to dress up last year was taken up by about half of the school so please don’t feel that this is ‘a must’!

The Coffee & Cake Team of parents are making the day a special one by running a book stall on the morning and afternoon of World Book Day – weather permitting this will be in the courtyard. Contributions of books would be welcome – please bring them into classes where they will be passed on. What’s more after the morning Book Sharing session, from 10.00 – 10.30am teas and coffees will be available in EAT, just to finish off the morning. There might even be a chance to browse the book sale or share favourite reads too!
