Attendance Audit

We are currently undertaking our half termly attendance audit, this looks at individual children’s attendance, patterns of absence and any other relevant information.

Where your child’s attendance is causing a concern, your child’s class teacher will be asking to meet with you over the next few weeks to further discuss your child’s pattern of attendance.

What your child’s class teacher is specifically tasked with detailing for you is the detrimental impact repeat absences has on your child’s learning and progress, this is an aspect of school provision which is inspected by Ofsted and action taken by the Local Authority where absence is having a detrimental impact on the progress.

Please can we also remind parents that it is your responsibility to make contact with the school when your child is absent providing the reasons for their absence. In the event that the school does not hear from a parent regarding the absence of their child the absence is recorded as ‘unauthorised’. As part of our duty of care for all children, a Safeguarding concern is triggered where there are repeat occurrences of parents not making contact with the school.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s attendance, please ask to speak with Mrs Galling.
